Well I am back from Vermont and have started running towards the next semester again. I am feverishly trying to update my bibliography and visual culture plan, have contacted my new artist teacher, working on my studio plan, and trying to get everything scheduled so that I don’t run so horribly behind this time. I am trying to make the blog posts easier by using Flock (not working yet) and generally running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
The dolls were a hit at the residency and the crits went well. Now that I am back and Jerry and I are going to try and put them in the Art-o-mat machines. I downloaded the stuff today to submit them. In case you don’t know what an Artomat machine is, they are retired cigarette vending machines that have been converted to vend art. There are 82 active machines in various locations throughout the country. We have one at the College of Charleston, believe it or not. I have wanted to put something in them ever since I saw one. The next phase of the Transform Her project: Getting the Etsy site on line and seeing if we can sell them packaged like cigarettes out of vending machines.
Sound Interesting? Check them out at: http://www.artomat.org/home.html
