Daily: The Vermont Ledger
Roller Derby Girl – The Rebel Girl

Goals for this week:

  • Keep working on the dolls and doing the daily drawings
  • Get my next set of books for the second mailing

Studio Project (The Vermont Ledger Series/Paper Dolls):
The doll idea is coming along. I think I will have something productive to show for my studio time when I meet with Yvette next month. Things are just kinda brewing. The flip-side of all these drawings is that I have actually starting to look at myself as an object. I notice it when I look in the mirror. I’ve never really paid that much attention to TV. I don’t watch it and I rarely read girly magazines. The exposure of looking at all this stuff is kinda tweeking my head a little bit and I am not sure what I think about it yet. It is an interesting symptom of the studio practice.

Visual Culture Project:
The first mailing went off to Sowon on Friday afternoon via next day air from the US Postal service. It was a relief and I was working down to the wire on it. I revised the paper 5 times (with a great deal of help from Jerry). Hopefully the feedback will be ok and productive. I am hoping that after turning in the first paper and getting critiqued on it I will have a better idea of how to go about writing the second mailing. We will see.

Facebook/Communication with the Group:
It seems that our papers are all due at different times depending on our faculty advisors. Everyone is in different states with their readings. We have started emailing and instant messenging each other with questions. It is very nice to hear from everyone. They all seem to be doing well.

Life in General:
This weekend was Misty’s baby shower / St. Patrick’s day party at Kirk and Kym’s. It was be nice to see everyone. We had an interesting time with helium balloons. I must admit that I watched in amusement and tried to keep the small children away as much as possible. We also had to keep the mentos and diet coke away from the kids. There are times I am very glad for my quiet life. I had to go home and take a nap to recover.

Hair Update:
Hair still falling out. I went to see Bernadette (friend and hairdresser) to see if she could do anything. I also asked if I was having a "hair emergency" if she could fit me in. She will and I am very grateful. Another wonderful outcome was that we have decided to write a graphic novel/comic book about demystifying hair care. I am supposed to meet with her next week to try and get a list of topics together. Jerry is going to edit it and help us market it using self publishing. My hope is to have this all lined up so that I can work on it next semester. So, that’s another plate spinning in the background.

Well, that’s all I have for today. Check back!

Cheers.
