Daily (February 28, 2007):

Studio Project:
I have my first meeting with Yvette on March 7th. I am supposed to have my Daily’s and a general idea about the paper doll project. I am also beginning to experiment with the idea from "The New Magic Animator Outfit."
My dates to meet this semester are: 1) March 7 2) April 8 3) May 12 4) June 10 5) July 14.
Brainstorming for the Paper Dolls:
Jerry sat down with me and helped me to start brain-storming about the paper doll project. I want to start thinking about stereotypes in the daily drawings.
Here’s some of the stereotypes we came up with:
- Sex/Male Fantasy
- Tech/Gadget girl (Jerry recommends seeing Metropolis)
- Iconic female robot figure
- possible links to cyberfeminism
- HR Giger
- Boobs for Missiles (this is a ha ha)
- Pageant Girl/Beauty Queen
- Stewardess
- 50′s housewife (June Cleaver)
- Native Princess of any village
- Nurse
- Scientist
- Artist
- Activist
- New Ager
- Fortune Teller
- Pretty Ugly Girl
- Librarian
- Girl with Gun (Agent Scully)
- Police Woman (feminine but utilitarian)
- Army Commando Chick (Sci-Fi theme, Aeryn from Farscape)
- Tank Girl Comic
- Other Notes:
- 13 is a coven (common belief)
- Stock Characters may be a good place to start.
