Today is Thanksgiving and it has been a busy week. Where to begin?

I found out that the CofC Vac Cheap Art Auction is going to be held on December 15th and I am going to be able to put in my Tribute to Mojo (and now Little Dog too) installation. This week has been spent at many meetings trying to sign up for stuff and figure out what needs to be done. This year I am going to take off all three days (December 13, 14, & 15) so that I can enjoy the process and not be as rushed with the installation.

I also emailed Jon Hodgeman and he agreed to send me two signed copies of his book Areas of my Expertise to donate to the auction along with the giclee prints that I am donating (Trixie of the East, Trixie of the West, Edmund the Self Taught Guitarist, and Lolly Hoot n Holler). I am really amazed at Jon Hodgeman’s generosity and his personal reply to my request. Jerry also said he would donate a Hobo to the auction which I think is really cool too.

Yesterday (Wednesday) we got out of work early and Jerry and I went to Buffalo South and had some food and used the free wifi. They were really cool about us hanging out and I think I like the place. The food was not so great but it may have just been our choices. Either way I figure I will go back since they are so nice about hanging out. I started drawing the beginning of the Tribute to Mojo and Little Dog Cheap Art poster.

Today Bill printed out four prints for me and they look great. I was a little worried that they wouldn’t transfer to print well since they were created completely digitally. I was really impressed. Christopher is going to bring home frame stuff for me and Bill is going to matt them. I think it will be a good donation. I plan on taking some pictures to send back to Jon Hodgeman to thank him for his generosity.

Luckily I brought my laptop with me since I was hoping to give Bill the files to print. Thanksgiving went from about noon to nine. I was able to work on the poster drawing while we were all hanging out. Christopher went with his sister and folks to see a movie and I decided to go home so that I keep working on the poster.

I plan on using it for postcards at the auction that people can take with them. Last year I realized that I should have had something with my contact information, etc. for people who viewed my installation. I am hoping that since it is a post card they may send it out to friends and family.

So, here is the completed poster (postcard). It’s around 2am and I just finished it. Tomorrow I am going to clean the house ( I really have to, I am walking on laundry and can’t find anything), go get 2 by 2′s so I can build the frame for David’s bride, get a paper musher and 5 gallon bucket for the paper mache and check my current stock of chicken wire and other supplies to see if I need anything else to get started. Time is very short for this project.

Enjoy the poster.
Cheers.
