Today I continued to work on the website a little bit by finishing the About Me section and cleaning up some of the images for the random PHP. That’s about it for today. I did decide that I am going to do my artist statement like a comic book and that I am going to design a comic book called Violet to represent me (Jolanda means Violet in Italian). I am going to do an Art Deco design similar to the Absinthe advertisements. I have also decided that I am going to include all my favorite things for the character: Chunky boots, an early 60′s playboy bunny type outfit, and hair sticks. This should be interesting. I am also going to draw it on paper instead of the computer so I can get better lines. I can’t wait.

Otherwise I figured it was a good time to do some more back tracking so I am going to put up the original sketch and finished Blue Girl Piece. Blue Girl is made out of Sculpey Clay and based on a drawing mannequin. She was made in 2005 and is about 12 inches tall. She is the the first of a series called Exotic Species. Other dolls to follow are Henna, Horsefly, and Mermaid. I will also be using these in my Hair Photography Piece.
