My Friends are Superheroes/Superhoboes
Today I finished #55: Iron Trousers the Strong. I also posted Jerry as Professor ?, Kayla as Lolly, and Rex. Here is the finished #55.
Here are the links for the ones submitted today to the The 700 Hoboes Project. I must as usual thank The Professor for all his help. In order to post I had to:
1)join Flickr (NO E! says The Professor),
2) Join the 700 Hoboes Group,
3) upload the images,
4) tag the images with the appropriate tags (this was not so very clear),
5) send the images to the group, and 6) wait to see if they made it up.
Did mention I also had to figure out what size to send? The Professor suggested 400 wide and as usual his advice seemed to be correct. Here’s all of them to date:
#100 Rex Spangler the Bedazzler
I failed to mention/write on Friday that I also submitted Dead End Friends, Lolly Hoot Holler, The Professor, and Rex Spangler the Bedazzler to the Redux Hotpressed Poster Fest. Again Jerry came to my rescue as I forgot to include the entry fee and he ran it back down for me. I think my debt is getting very large.
More WordPress Weirdness:
On an odd note, the WordPress side bar seems to magically reappeared again. All the categories have not. I will take what I can get. Jerry is sure it has to do with my mindless div tag insertions and so I think I am going to have to go through all the dam posts and pull them out to see if this freaking thing rights itself out. Magic.
OH CRAP ITS JULY:
I also realized today that IT IS JULY! Which means I better get crackin on essay, slides, letters, etc. I am off tomorrow and am going to pull it all out and set up a schedule on the calendar. Positives: Redux will make slides from Digital for 2 bucks a slide with a minimum of 20 slides. I think I have most of my essay outlined and just need to work it out. I have already got 3 professors who have agreed to do letters. I have 2 people who have volunteered to review the essay for grammar, content, etc.
I also got a little overwhelmed again this afternoon about the whole thing after I started realizing that there are different rules for artists statements vs. resumes vs. bio’s and that I need to finish the first page of the website and get the rest of the portfolios up. I also completely feel like I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. Suck.
I have been spending so much time on the drawings and WordPress and I have lulled myself into a false sense of security by telling myself I had time since it wasn’t July yet. Through researching one thing was very clear. In order to stand out in the crowd you better have something interesting to say. This lead me down the path of how much I should say about why I create art. I am generally very quiet (in writing) about my reasons since they are personal. We’ll see where this leads.
A Note on the Professor’s Personal Creative Endeavors:
Jerry is scanning his own drawings to work on for his graphic novel. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with. I have enjoyed seeing his sketches and hearing about the storyline. I need a cheat sheet for the characters. I am hoping he will give me a drawing of the _ _ _. I don’t want to list the characters or give away the storyline as they are his but hopefully he will start putting them out their so everyone can see. Mysterious:)
Note to Self:
Its Time to Give the Professor a Break. I am drinking up all the feel good from The Professor like a dry sponge. I think the adverse side effect for Jerry is that I am sucking it all out of him.
